Richard Carr, CFP®, ChFC®, CLU®, CASL®,

Rich started his career in financial services with New York Life Insurance Company.  Soon thereafter, a Holy Cross classmate, Jack Woods, contacted Rich to discuss the potential of working with his family firm, Thomas Woods Insurance Agency, Inc. in Worcester.  After a two-year period that saw Rich qualify for several industry recognition awards, he formed Richard Carr & Associates Financial Services

Today, with over 27 years of experience and eight professional designations, Rich continues to build the firm by adding some of the most well regarded, qualified and ethical financial advisors and staff in Central Massachusetts.  The firm changed names in 2014 to CARR FINANCIAL GROUP.  The motto remains the same: whether helping clients manage investments, plan for college costs or review retirement income strategies, "What we do is not just about money,  it’s about your future."

Rich holds professional designations from The American College, The College For Financial Planning and The Institute of Business & Finance.  Rich is an Investment Advisor Representative with Private Advisor Group.  In addition to the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER designation, Rich will complete his Master’s Degree in Financial Services with The American College in 2017.

Rich has held many leadership positions in his community, including, Board Chair of Pernet Family Health Care, member of the Holden Town Finance Committee and Holden Infrastructure Investment Fund, representative to the Wachusett Regional School District Audit Advisory Committee, and President of The Worcester Junior Sharks Youth Hockey organization. He is currently a member of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce,  National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (NAIFA), The Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the Worcester Business and Estate Planning Council.

Many know Rich best as the host of the Financial Freedom Show that airs, weekly, on WTAG 580am/94.9fm.  Unlike any other ‘financial talk’ show today, listeners hear practical advice to help each find balance in their lives as well as strategies to make the most of what they have.  Newspapers, television, radio and trade journals have all interviewed Rich regarding topics from winning the lottery to stock market behavior.

Rich graduated from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA where he received his Bachelor Of Arts degree with an Economics major and two concentrations, in Computer Science and in Russian.

As a two time cancer survivor, Rich devotes time and resources to many cancer charities including the 15-40 Connection, Pan Mass Challenge, and the Rodman Ride For Kids.  Rich lives in Leicester on Cedar Meadow Lake with his wife, Lori, their children, Ben and Molly, and their two golden retrievers.
