Rich started his career in financial services directly out of college in 1989.  In the years since, Rich has earned and maintained eight professional designations including the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER PRACTITIONER, CFP®.  In 2017, at age 50, Rich received his Masters Degree in Financial Planning from the American College.

Rich continues to build the firm by adding some of the most well regarded, qualified and ethical financial advisors and staff in Central Massachusetts.  The firm changed names in 2014 to CARR FINANCIAL GROUP.  The motto remains the same: whether helping clients manage investments, plan for college costs or review retirement income strategies, "What we do is not just about money,  it's about your future."

A fundamental philosophy held by Rich is that a community that supports your business deserves your support in return.  True to his words, Rich has held many leadership positions in his community, including, Board Chair of Pernet Family Health Care, member of the Holden Town Finance Committee and Holden Infrastructure Investment Fund, representative to the Wachusett Regional School District Audit Advisory Committee, and President of The Worcester Junior Sharks Youth Hockey organization. You can find Rich volunteering at local non-profits including the Worcester Animal Rescue League and the 15-40 Connection.  He is currently a member of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce,  National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (NAIFA), The Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the Worcester Business and Estate Planning Council.

Many know Rich best as the host of the Financial Freedom Show that airs, weekly, on WTAG 580am/94.9fmUnlike any other ‘financial talk' show today, listeners hear practical advice to help each find balance in their lives as well as strategies to make the most of what they have.  Newspapers, television, radio and trade journals have all interviewed Rich regarding topics from winning the lottery to Bitcoin.

Rich graduated from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree with an Economics major and two concentrations, in Computer Science and in Russian.

As a two-time cancer survivor, Rich devotes time and resources to many cancer charities including the 15-40 Connection, Pan Mass Challenge, and the Rodman Ride for Kids.  Rich lives in Leicester on Cedar Meadow Lake with his wife, Lori, their two children.
